ST Kilda and North Melbourne are playing for pride at Etihad Stadium, but Kangaroos key forward Ben Brown also has a shot at individual glory.
Brown was seven goals behind leader Jack Riewoldt (65 goals) on the Coleman Medal leaderboard prior to Sunday’s clash.
To win the medal outright, Brown would have to kick a career-best eight goals.
He got off to a good start, booting the first goal of the game against St Kilda to cut the deficit to six.
He has only managed seven goals once in his career, against Brisbane in Round 23 last year.
Riewoldt, Tom Hawkins (58 goals) and Luke Breust (53) have already played this round, while Lance Franklin (57) missed the Swans’ loss to Hawthorn through injury.
Riewoldt booted five goals against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.
Both North Melbourne and St Kilda are out of the finals race.
