AFL Round 10 Preview

Western Bulldogs v Saint KildaNothing separates these sides on the ladder sitting 8th and 9th with less than one percent separating them. Statistically they are both very evenly matched and play a very similar game style where they run and gun and attack at all costs. While this is effective in games it has also cost them with both sides being very inaccurate in front of goal when going forward. It’s getting to the tight part of the season where every win becomes vital the cream will rise to the top and the Bulldogs experience should be enough to get them over the Saints.
Predict Bulldogs win 7 points

Melbourne v Gold Coast

This games shapes as one of the most important games of the year for the Demons. A win and they just stay in touch of the chasing pack between 9th and 11th, a loss and they will find themselves two games out of the top 8 and without the personnel to make a charge. For the Suns it becomes about pride they looked like a side who are not interested in playing football right now and without Ablett to lead them they will need a big lift from so many more. The trip to TIO stadium adds a bit of extra variance to the game if anything it will suit the Suns more in the humid conditions.

Melbourne have shown just how good they can be in the past few games but the difference between their best and worst is too great, they need to be at there best today to get this win.
Predict Melbourne win 29 points
RIchmond v Essendon

After 5 wins in a row the Tigers are now staring down the barrel of 5 losses in a row today as they take on the spasmodic Bombers. Richmond have been so close yet have found ways to lose games they should of won, it must be taking its toll on the players mind. The Bombers continue their hit n cold form looking like world beaters one week and then nothing the next. Alex Rance will have a big say in today’s game if he can keep Daniher in check then the it helps the Tigers go a ,omg way to winning the game. The midfield battle looks like an instant classic and will love watching them go head to head. A win for either side will put it a game clear in the top 8 and a small a,punt of breathing space. There is that feeling of déjà vu with the Tigers that they are going to stumble their way from here to 9th.
Predict Essendon win 19 points
Adelaide v Freemantle

The Crows returned to form in a big way last week and the Dockers well they have snuck nicely under the radar to find themselves sitting in the top 8. They have been the quiet achievers and one of the form sides winning five of their last six games. Crows again have been slow to start but once they get momentum they are nigh in impossible to stop. Freo play a style of game that may just frustrate the Crows enough for long enough to give them a chance to win. If the Crows mid field can get the upper hand early enough then they should give the forwards enough use to over come the Dockers back line. Crows should win but don’t write the Dockers off just yet they have proven many wrong so far this season and just ,may do it again.
Predict Adelaide win 17 points
Collingwood v Brisbane

Collingwood win win this it will be by a matter of how far. Collingwood are one of the worst shots on goal while Brisbane one of the best they just don’t get many chances.

If Collingwood kick poorly then the Lions will be a good chance to keep this within a few goals. As far as the season goes Collingwood need to win to get them out of the bottom few and maybe with a bit of luck start to pressure the bottom part of the top 8. Pendlebury, Adams and Treloar have been standouts and will continue to rack up good numbers, the Lions mid field won’t be able to keep with them. The difference will be how well the Pies forwards play.
Predict Collingwood win 27 points

North Melbourne v Carlton

North have found a bit of form winning 3 of their last 4 games, and while the Blues have been solid without setting the world on fire. Etihad stadium is a happy hunting ground for North and they play their best football there. The Blues had a tough slog in the wet last week against the Dockers and may find the legs a little heavy this week. North have both big men firing up forward in Ben Brown and Jarrod Waite and will be the difference in the game. The battle through the middle will be intriguing both with a couple stars and a couple up and coming guns should be very entertaining.
Predict North Melbourne win 33 points
West Coast v GWS

Game of the day over in the West and it will be a real test for both sides. The Giants have been good in getting the job done finding ways to win when games have looked lost. The Eagles have been superior at home but are yet to face one of the other top 4 sides at home. The Giants have been hit hard with injuries and have been very good at carrying that so far, but a trip to the west is a very tough task. The Eagles have made 7 changes to their side which is very unsettling for any side among those missing in Shuey, Lecras and Wellingham, they get some good inclusions also with Petrie and Jeta. West Coast will be keen to keep building the fortress and a big scalp like the Giants sends a message to all visiting sides.
Predict West Coast win 17 points
