Friday Night Footy and a Prime Time game! The Grand Final replay at Etihad stadium tonight should be a very highly skilled affair. Forget the Swans poor showing last week when ambushed by the Power, they will be fired up this week for a bit of redemption. The Bulldogs have had the wood on the Swans the last 3 times beating them twice by under a goal and then of course the Final last year where the Dogs ran away with the prize in a dominant performance. Of the previous three meetings at Etihad stadium, the Swans have dominated the Dogs winning each game by 50 points or more.
The Swans have made a couple changes to their side from last week which has seen a big drift in the Swans price, now as high as $3.10 to win. Considering how poor the Dogs where last week against Collingwood, losing many of the key stat areas I struggle to see them beating up a team like Sydney with class across every line. Look for big games from Parker and Hannebury to bounce back after last weeks sluggish effort with only 18 touches. The Dogs still have that X factor quality about them with Bont and Strigner and adding Cloke at full forward gives them a huge marking target.
Dogs got lucky last week; Collingwood let them off the hook. The Swans where a no show in the second half against the Power so to try to correct that form is hard. I have to look back at the recent form between these two sides and it points to a close game especially at Etihad where Swans play well. Buddy will have a big game tonight and the Swans midfield will get on top. I expect a high scoring affair and tough in close hard battles – these sides know no other way.
This game will come down to who’s side makes the most of their opportunities. If the Swans can give their forwards first use of the ball then I think they can make this a very tight game and even win.
#puntr Prediction – Swans win by 16 points.
